What AirPlx is
What is AirPlx?
AirPlx is aviation operations software for FBOs and MROs. Every aircraft on your base gets planned, moved, documented and tracked, in one live picture the whole team is working from.
Aircraft are drawn to their real dimensions from a library of 1,000+ models, AutoStack proposes a layout whenever you want one, and every person at the operation is included. Most operations are live in 1-2 days.
What it does
You stay in control of every one of these.
The manual path is the default. AutoStack is there when you want it, and out of the way when you do not.
Position aircraft yourself
Drag aircraft into position with realistic towing simulation, just like your team does on the ramp, but in 3D with accurate dimensions. See wing overlaps, tail clearances, and door constraints before you commit.
AutoStack, when you want it
One click generates an optimized layout based on departure times, tug paths, and safety clearances. Use it as a starting point and adjust manually, or skip it entirely. Your call.
1,000+ aircraft, drawn to size
Manufacturer-verified dimensions for 1,000+ aircraft models: wingspan, length, height, tail clearance, and winglet variants. New models added regularly.
Conflicts flagged as they appear
Continuous monitoring flags scheduling overlaps, tow path obstructions, and double-booked positions the moment they appear.
Ramp and hangar in one view
Aircraft positions, arrival times, departure sequences, and hangar assignments in one live view. Replaces the whiteboard-spreadsheet-phone-call loop.
Clearances and egress, enforced
Every layout respects minimum clearances, egress paths, and equipment access.

Who it is for
Who runs on AirPlx.
AirPlx runs at FBOs, MRO facilities, airport authorities and multi-base operators.
Stax, HangarStack and SmartDraw
How it compares.
Other stacking tools give you manual positioning in 2D. AirPlx adds 3D clearances, AutoStack, scheduling and conflict detection on top of the same manual control.
Stax
What they offer
Manual positioning, towing simulation, scheduling
What they do not
2D only: no 3D visualization, no auto-stacking, 500 aircraft, 3-user limit, requires app install
HangarStack
What they offer
Manual positioning, web-based, unlimited users
What they do not
2D only: no 3D, no towing simulation, no auto-stacking, no conflict detection, 600 aircraft
SmartDraw / Whiteboards
What they offer
Familiar, low barrier to start
What they do not
No aircraft dimensions, no scheduling, no optimization, no conflict detection, not built for aviation
AirPlx
Manual 3D positioning with towing simulation, AutoStack when you want it, 1,000+ aircraft, real-time conflict detection, ramp and hangar scheduling, unlimited users, web-based. Everything the other tools do, plus 3D and automation.
Frequently asked questions
Questions we get asked on the demo call.
What is AirPlx?
AirPlx is 3D hangar stacking software for FBOs, MROs, airports, and other aviation operations teams. Users drag aircraft into position with realistic towing simulation, see wing overlaps and tail clearances in true 3D, and plan ramp and hangar schedules in one view. When you want it, AutoStack can generate optimized layouts automatically, but you're always in control. The platform includes 1,000+ aircraft models with manufacturer-verified dimensions and real-time conflict detection. AirPlx replaces whiteboards, spreadsheets, and 2D diagram tools with a live, safety-first digital planning system.
What is AutoStack?
AutoStack is AirPlx's optional automated layout generator. It calculates aircraft placement by analyzing the full 3D geometry of 1,000+ aircraft models, including wingspan, tail height, and winglet clearances, along with departure sequences and tow paths. Many teams use AutoStack to generate a starting layout, then adjust positions manually. Others skip it entirely and plan by hand in 3D. It's a tool in the toolbox, not a replacement for your team's judgment.
How many aircraft models does AirPlx support?
AirPlx includes a library of 1,000+ aircraft models with manufacturer-verified dimensions, from light single-engine piston aircraft to large-cabin business jets, turboprops, and military transports. Each model includes accurate wingspan, length, height, tail height, and ground clearance data. If an aircraft isn't in the library, the AirPlx team can add it same-day from official specifications.
Does AirPlx include real-time conflict detection?
Yes. AirPlx provides real-time conflict detection that continuously monitors your hangar and ramp schedule for overlapping aircraft stays, tow path obstructions, and double-booked positions. When a new reservation or schedule change creates a conflict, the system immediately flags the issue and suggests resolution options.
How does AirPlx integrate with ramp and hangar scheduling?
AirPlx combines hangar stacking with scheduling in a single platform. Operations teams can see arrival times, departure sequences, and hangar assignments in one view. The system tracks aircraft stays over time, so layouts automatically account for which aircraft are departing when and which positions become available. It also integrates with popular aviation management systems via CSV import/export and API access.
How much capacity can AirPlx add to a hangar?
AirPlx helps operators find additional hangar capacity by optimizing the full cubic volume of their hangars, not just floor space. The 3D stacking engine calculates safe wing-over-wing overlaps, tail clearances, and door constraints that manual 2D planning misses. The actual gain depends on hangar dimensions, aircraft mix, and current utilization, but many operators discover capacity they didn't know they had.
How fast is planning with AirPlx compared to manual methods?
AutoStack generates optimized layouts in seconds, compared to the 15-30+ minutes it typically takes to plan configurations with whiteboards, spreadsheets, or general-purpose diagram tools. For manual positioning, the towing simulation lets users drag aircraft into place with real dimensions and clearance checks. Changes propagate instantly when schedules shift.
How long does it take to set up AirPlx?
Most operations are fully up and running within 1-2 days. The AirPlx team handles aircraft database setup, imports existing schedules, and trains the operations team. The platform includes 1,000+ pre-loaded aircraft models, so teams can start optimizing immediately after onboarding.
How does AirPlx pricing work?
AirPlx uses flat monthly pricing with unlimited users and no per-seat or per-user fees. The entire operations team (CSRs, line crew, managers) can access the platform. Pricing is based on operation size, not headcount.
How does AirPlx compare to Stax, HangarStack, and SmartDraw?
Stax and HangarStack are hangar stacking tools that let you manually position aircraft in 2D. AirPlx does everything they do, including manual positioning, towing simulation and scheduling, but in 3D, with 1,000+ aircraft models, real-time conflict detection, and unlimited users. When you want it, AutoStack generates optimized layouts automatically. SmartDraw, whiteboards, and spreadsheets are general-purpose tools with no aircraft dimensions or aviation logic. AirPlx is the superset: you get the manual control your team expects, plus 3D visualization and automation when it helps.
